Decorative Tiles and Repeat patterns (3 weeks)
Enter the world of tiles, spanning cultures, history and decorative styles. Handmade tiles are a uniquely personal process and can be taken in many directions. In this 3 week class students will be guided through the design, composition and creation process, resulting in 16 of their own personal tiles and the skills to continue to create more on their own.
Week Four – OPTIONAL Meet up, discussion and sharing of creations. Come together to talk about the work and pieces we have created. Have a chance to view your work through other’s perspectives and learn about each other’s processes. This is a supportive, encouraging, and constructive space. There will be a nominal drop-in fee for this class if students wish to attend.
All classes are 18+.
What is included in the class:
Clay to make your tiles
All necessary tools
Firing of your pottery
Glazes, slip and underglaze for decorating
Classes are limited to 9 students. Classes are 2.5 hours.
There are no make-up classes available if you miss a class.
We do have open studio on Fridays 9am-5pm for students to practice what they are learning during class for a drop-in fee of $20.
Cancellation policy
You can cancel your spot up to 10 days before the first class and receive a full refund, minus a $50 administration fee. Cancellations less than 10 days before the first class forfeit the entirety of the class fee.
We reserve the right to cancel a class if we are unable to fill the class with at least 6 students. As we are a small studio we need to have enough students in each class to make it feasible to run a session. If we are unable to fill the class fully, we will do our best to offer students an alternative time/date or provide a full refund.
